ALBUM RELEASE: "Christmas: Beyond the Lights"

We are so excited to release our first Christmas album!  We trust that you'll find this Christmas album unlike any other. In a time where Christmas has become more commercialized, it's important to look beyond all the lights, gifts, and busyness and to actually connect with the Spirit of the season.  Our hope is that this album will help you do just that.

We started working on it back in April.  Understandably, it was bizarre to start thinking about Christmas during the spring, but we definitely got in the spirit!  We took a creator's retreat to the coast and stayed at the home of two of the most beautiful people on earth, Raschel and Norm Gray.  They spoiled us like nobody's business.  They also inspired us with their amazing stories and filled our hearts with their deeply encouraging words.  Oh! And they fed us.  Food without end!

Once we had all the songs laid out.  We hurried back to Boston and began the recording process with John Weston at Futura Productions.  We worked tirelessly and at times, tiredly.  Our manager, Vincent, kept the whip ready to keep us on track and on schedule.  Then we had Micah head over to our sound engineer and friend Tim Bongiovanni of Northgate Productions to record the vocals.

Meanwhile, we had to put together our photoshoot for the album art.  Our friend and photo-editor, Rosalee McGilvery came up with the idea of having us seated on a red couch in a snowy field with a Christmas tree.  We thought it was a super cool idea, but we had a couple problems.  How do we get snow to fall in the middle of the summer?  And we only had a greenish couch--not a red one.  Rosalee said she could make it all happen.  And she did!  We hired our friend Shef Reynolds to scout out locations and shoot the photos.  Then let Rosalee work her meteorological alchemy.  Meanwhile, our stylist, Joy Kingsley-Ibeh came into town and worked out an amazingly edgy yet classy wardrobe.  Once we had the look and the photos edited, our friend Aaron Perry took all the images and put together one snazzy album jacket!

All the while, Cordaro and Kendall were busy composing some epic orchestral arrangements for some of the songs on the album.  At the same time, Tim began mixing all the tracks.  This was an incredibly tedious process involving lots of going back and forth and lots of opinions and revisions!  But this process made the album all the better.

Throughout all this, our executive coordinator, Jocelyn Vierra, was tirelessly working on making sure our PledgeMusic campaign ran smoothly.  Without her, there would not be an album to release right now.  We can't see any way we would've been able to create and arrange music while going through all the tedium of running our campaign.  She's indispensable.

And then there is our manager and executive producer Vincent Richardson who was as equally indispensable.  He connected us with the right people, made sure all the legal work was taken care of, and made the whole operation run smoothly.

The result of all these moving pieces is what we now present to you: "Christmas: Beyond the Lights."

Our Debut Album is Now Available

It's been a minute since we've updated everyone.  So much has been happening that it has been hard to sit down and process it all.

First, we're excited to present to you our debut album.  We hope that you enjoy it and find it moving.  We've been excited to hear all the positive feedback and sales have been going incredibly well.

Second, we're so glad to have packed and shipped the album and pledge exclusives to you directly rather than going through a company.  It helped us feel a deeper connection with you all.  We can say that doing so took an immense amount of work, a few paper cuts, and lots of silly playfulness to keep us going!

Third, there are so many people to thank.  I would post all those names here, but then this post would become so long that I might break the website.  Squeezing all our "thank yous" on the album jacket was a feat in itself!  Even so, we have to thank you all again and again; you are the ones that have made this possible.  You are the ones who are fundamentally irreplaceable.  Thank you so much.

Fourth, we are still tweaking the website to make it more attractive and user-friendly.  We do plan on selling the album through the website as well as making merchandise available for purchase.  No timeline has been set on that, but stay tuned!  Until then, grab the album, dim the lights, listen to "Sons of Serendip" and allow yourself to be taken somewhere special.

Updates: Lot's of 'em!

Hi everyone,

You've probably noticed that we've revamped our website.  Bear with us as we optimize it and make it awesome. =)  It's been a while since our last blog entry so another entry is long overdue. So here are some updates!

Album Release. As many of you have probably heard, we have postponed our release date until January 2015.  The recording process went very well but we want to make sure that we do not rush.  This will be our first album.  Once it's released, it will be out there forever.  So we want to make sure we are excited about the product--that we have the best mix and mastering we can find.  We've let a few people hear some early drafts of the songs and the consensus is that the album is going to be incredible which is a huge comfort since making an album is very new to us!

Christmas Single. We have a Christmas single coming out soon.  Our sound engineer and close friends have told us that our arrangement is epic!  So I think you'll all be excited to hear it.  It'll be released this December!

New Photos.  Have you noticed the new photos on our website?  We want to give a special shout out to our photographer, Shef Reynolds!  He did an amazing job.  We would like to express our gratitude to our stylist Joy Kingsley-Ibeh and Milton's Clothing for making sure we looked great! And last, but not least, we'd like to thank Stonehill College and Carol and Peter B. for providing the space for us to do the photoshoot!

Apart from all that, we still can't thank you all enough.  Because of your support, we've exceeded our goal on PledgeMusic.  You are making everything possible for us!  You're all so amazing.  Thank you so much.
